Nokia’s success with NFC phones ended with the Nokia 6216, which never was released. The device was announced at WIMA 2009 with great applause, but as MNOs did not place orders for the device, it never was produced. On the other hand, one has to say, that the hardware and software platform of the device was already three years old and therefore customers expected more iPhone like devices. Nokia changed the location of the antenna which was coiled around the display only this time. The highlight of the device was the SWP support. But as the device never found its way into the shop, the NFC story found a quick end.
